It is our great honour and pleasure to announce that Mr Korvi Rakshand, Founder of JAAGO Foundation, has received the “Sheikh Hasina Youth Volunteer Award 2022” for his contributions to the education, science and technology sector at an event held at Osmani Smriti Auditorium.
Md. Zahid Ahsan Russel, State Minister for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, presented the award on behalf of the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who attended the programme virtually from Ganabhaban.
Today’s youth has different innovative ideas. They have the capability to change the mindset of society and push our nation to a better place. Their immense creativity has to get the opportunity to fit into this modern technological era. There are many benefits to youth volunteerism. They are accessing volunteer opportunities that pursue better outcomes for teens and their communities.
To help them walk a bit further, some of the organisations in Bangladesh have taken a few initiatives. Among all of them, one is the JAAGO Foundation. They intend to let them get involved in the social works of our society so that our nation can stand and develop more. We have to get along with the modern age. Nurturing the inner spirit of volunteerism in youth is the main target of many educational institutions and organisations.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports has presented the “Sheikh Hasina Youth Volunteer Award 2022 to 11 individuals for their extraordinary contributions in various social fields. Each of the 11 awardees was given Tk 100,000 and a memento. President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday conveyed individual congratulatory messages to the award winners.
President M Abdul Hamid, in his message, said: “I welcome the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to award the ‘Sheikh Hasina Youth Volunteer Award 2022’ to uplift youths to participate in philanthropic and voluntary tasks.”
The head of the state also welcomed those who will be conferred with the award this year in recognition of setting a unique example in voluntary work in the social sector.
In her message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said: “I am happy to know that the ‘Sheikh Hasina Youth Volunteer Award’ is being introduced for the second time under the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.”
The greatest Bangali of all time, Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman took multifaceted youth welfare-oriented programs following the country’s independence to involve the youths in national development, she said.
“As a legacy of the glorious rich history of the past, we believe that our youths will maintain a vital role in building a developed and prosperous golden Bangladesh as dreamt by the father of the nation through the implementation of ‘Vision 2041’,”.
Both the president and the prime minister wished for the overall success of all programs undertaken on the occasion of the Sheikh Hasina Youth Volunteer Award-2022.
We hope there will be more initiatives by which we will continue our journey and try to expand it more.
