Exploring Mindfulness and Connection at the Dhaka Flow Fest 2025

JAAGO Foundation students recently spent three incredible days learning, playing, and discovering new ways to care for their minds and bodies at the Dhaka Flow Fest 2025, an annual celebration of mindfulness, movement, and well-being. The festival brought together wellness experts, creative minds, and changemakers from across the country, and our students had the opportunity to be part of this inspiring event.

The experience began with the Yoga by Yoganika session, conducted by Ms. Anika Rabbani, Founder of the wellness brand Yoganika. Through engaging stretches and mindful breathing, our students explored how movement plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy body and mind. Ms. Anika taught them that yoga isn’t just about physical fitness; it’s also about self-awareness, balance, and finding calm amidst the chaos of daily life. The students learned how regular practice can improve concentration, enhance emotional control, and reduce stress, tools that will serve them well both in and outside the classroom.

Next came the Reiki by Tas session, led by Ms. Tasmiah Rahman, Portfolio Director at Innovision Consulting. Reiki, a traditional Japanese form of energy healing, introduced our students to the concept of restoring balance through energy flow. Ms. Tasmiah demonstrated how energy can be harnessed to promote relaxation, inner peace, and overall well-being. For many students, this was their first exposure to energy healing — and it opened their eyes to how mindfulness can go beyond meditation or movement, extending into the unseen energies that shape our emotional and mental states.

The final session, Art Healers with Diti, conducted by Ms. Diti Roy, Manager at BRAC, allowed creativity to take the spotlight. Through colors, patterns, and free expression, students explored how art can heal, comfort, and connect. Ms. Diti encouraged them to let go of perfection and paint their feelings, transforming emotions into vibrant visuals. This session showed our students how creativity can be a powerful outlet, one that builds confidence, reduces anxiety, and helps process emotions that words often fail to express.

Beyond the sessions, Dhaka Flow Fest 2025 became a space for connection, compassion, and community. The JAAGO Foundation stall turned into a hub of warmth and generosity as numerous visitors stopped by to learn about our mission and the impact of our work in providing free education to underprivileged children across Bangladesh. Many of them made heartfelt contributions, donating clothes, shoes, and toys for the students of our schools. These simple yet powerful acts of kindness will bring immense joy to children who often go without such essentials.

We also met incredible new people who were deeply inspired by our vision. Many visitors pledged to support our cause, whether by volunteering their time, sponsoring a child’s education, or becoming long-term partners in our mission to break the cycle of poverty through education. Their enthusiasm and belief in our work reaffirmed what we stand for—that when a community comes together, real change becomes possible.

Throughout the festival, our students not only participated in enriching wellness sessions but also had the opportunity to interact with people from diverse walks of life, from wellness practitioners and artists to social entrepreneurs and youth leaders. These interactions gave them new perspectives, boosted their confidence, and helped them realise that they too can be changemakers in their own way.

As the three days came to an end, the lessons our students carried back went far beyond yoga poses, energy healing, or art. They returned with a deeper understanding of mindfulness, a state of being present, compassionate, and aware of one’s emotions and surroundings. They also witnessed firsthand how kindness, empathy, and shared purpose can build bridges between communities.

At JAAGO Foundation, we believe education extends beyond textbooks and classrooms. Experiences like the Dhaka Flow Fest nurture emotional intelligence, creativity, and inner resilience, qualities essential for the holistic growth of every child. By engaging with mindfulness practices and connecting with compassionate individuals, our students learned that true well-being lies in balance—of body, mind, and heart.

The Dhaka Flow Fest 2025 was not just a weekend of wellness; it was a reminder that when we move, heal, and create together, we flow toward a brighter, kinder, and more mindful future.
