Position Summary
The Project Officer will be responsible for the coordination, implementation, and day-to-day support of the JAAGO Women Scholarship Program. This role requires continuous engagement with scholars, trainers, mentors, and institutional partners to ensure effective delivery of scholarships, skill development sessions, and mentoring activities.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Officer will be based at JAAGO Foundation’s headquarters in Banani, Dhaka. This role is exclusively open to female candidates who are passionate about girls’ education, women’s empowerment, and community impact.
Job Responsibilities
Scholar Coordination & Relationship Management
- Act as the key contact for scholars, ensuring regular communication and follow-ups.
- Coordinate disbursement schedules and monitor proper utilisation of scholarship funds.
- Maintain updated records on academic progress, attendance, and student profiles.
- Provide individual support as needed to address academic or personal challenges.
Training & Capacity Building
- Liaise with trainers to design and deliver periodic training sessions.
- Schedule and organise workshops on professional development, digital skills, leadership, etc.
- Ensure active participation and training feedback from scholars.
- Document training outcomes and recommend enhancements.
Mentorship Program Support
- Coordinate the scholar-mentor matching process in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Monitor mentorship engagement and troubleshoot emerging issues.
- Build and maintain relationships with mentors and external contributors.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Collect, organise, and analyse program data to measure progress and impact.
- Support reporting processes for donors and internal leadership through monthly and quarterly updates.
- Assist with audit preparation, case study development, and documentation of success stories.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Assist in managing budgets, procurement, and logistics related to training and mentorship.
- Keep project calendars, filing systems, and communication records up to date.
- Represent the program in meetings, events, and public forums as required.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Gender Studies, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- At least 1 year of professional experience in project implementation, youth development, women’s empowerment, or educational programs.
Skills and other competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Bangla.
- Proficient in Google Sheets and data management, with strong expertise in creating visually engaging presentations using Canva, along with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Strong organisational abilities with keen attention to detail and deadlines.
- Empathy and sensitivity in working with underprivileged young women.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
