Marketing and Recruitment Officer, Shopner Sharothi
Position Summary
JAAGO Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Marketing and Recruitment Officer for the Shopner Sharothi (Girls Education and Skills Partnership) Project, based in Cox’s Bazar. This position is primarily focused on driving job placement initiatives for project graduates by linking trained youth with relevant employment, internship, and apprenticeship opportunities.
The Marketing and Recruitment Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing targeted outreach and recruitment strategies that directly support employment outcomes. This includes engaging with employers, industry partners, and training providers to identify placement opportunities, organizing job fairs and networking events, and coordinating enrollment of graduates into placement pathways.
The incumbent will work closely with the Project Manager, employers, and community stakeholders to ensure that placement activities are aligned with labor market demands, gender-inclusive, and culturally sensitive. By facilitating connections between graduates and potential employers, the officer will play a key role in ensuring the successful transition of youth from training to sustainable employment.
This position will report directly to the Project Manager. Candidates must be citizens of Bangladesh and committed to promoting inclusive, gender-responsive employment opportunities for young women and marginalized youth.
Job Responsibilities
A. Employer Engagement and Placement:
- Identify, engage, and maintain relationships with employers, industry partners, and training providers to create sustainable employment, internship, and apprenticeship opportunities for graduates.
- Collaborate with employers to understand workforce needs and align graduate skills with available positions.
- Facilitate recruitment processes, including employer briefings, interviews, and placement follow-ups.
- Support employers in developing inclusive and gender-sensitive hiring practices.
B. Learner Mobilization and Recruitment:
- Conduct targeted outreach and recruitment campaigns to enroll eligible graduates into placement initiatives.
- Organize information sessions, orientations, and pre-placement briefings to prepare graduates for employment opportunities.
- Ensure recruitment and placement activities prioritize young women and marginalized youth in line with project objectives.
C. Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, local organizations, and youth groups to support placement initiatives.
- Gather feedback from graduates, employers, and communities to improve placement processes and outcomes.
- Promote awareness about employment opportunities, the value of skill development, and project achievements within the community.
D. Event Management:
- Plan and coordinate job fairs, employer networking sessions, and other placement-related events.
- Ensure visibility and communication materials are effectively utilized to maximize graduate engagement.
- Document and report outcomes of events to inform project planning and improvement.
E. Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain up-to-date records of employer partnerships, graduate placements, and follow-ups.
- Prepare regular reports summarizing recruitment and placement activities, challenges, and outcomes.
- Provide timely updates to the Project Manager to support monitoring, evaluation, and decision-making.
F. Ethics and Cultural Sensitivity:
- Demonstrate gender sensitivity, cultural awareness, and respect for local customs in all interactions.
- Uphold ethical, transparent, and professional practices in engagement with employers, graduates, and communities.
G. Safeguarding:
- • Uphold and promote the organization’s safeguarding policies to ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults engaged in our activities.
- • Immediately report any concerns, suspicions, or incidents of safeguarding breaches in line with the organization’s reporting procedures.
- • Maintain professional boundaries and conduct that fosters a safe and respectful environment for all beneficiaries, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Human Resource Management, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in employer engagement, job placement facilitation, recruitment, or career services—preferably within youth-focused or development projects.
- Proven experience in liaising with employers, organizing placement events, and managing graduate recruitment processes.
- Familiarity with labor market trends, skills-based employment, and gender-sensitive placement practices.
- Experience working with young women and marginalized communities is highly desirable.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel to project sites and engage with employers and communities at the field level.
